Sangyong spoke on nutrigenomics and nutrigenetics for zinc at the US Army DEVCOM Soldier Center in Natick, MA.

The lab was selected for a pilot project at the JAX Nathan Shock Center of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging, examining how zinc-supplemented and zinc-deficient diets affect senotherapeutic approaches in aged mice.

Work on zinc status and frailty, combining observational and genetic analyses, was presented at the Gerontological Society of America Annual Scientific Meeting in Boston, MA.

A UConn NUSC Pilot Study Award supports development of intestinal organoid models for studying cellular senescence and zinc homeostasis in aging.

Karina Huang presented at the Frontiers Undergraduate Research Exhibition on aging- and senescence-induced changes in zinc homeostasis in mice and intestinal cells.

Closing out their Bridging the Gap summer, Faizan Ahmad presented on zinc distribution across tissues and cellular organelles, reviewing recent animal studies and the construction of organelle-specific zinc sensors, mentored by Evelyn Nathania. Chase Sayaith presented on zinc analysis in mouse tissues and structural prediction of zinc-binding proteins, mentored by Suyun Choi.

Sangyong gave invited talks at POSTECH (Chemical Engineering Seminar) in Pohang and at Kyungpook National University (G-LAMP Seminar) in Daegu.
