Lori Huang on zinc transporters in aged intestinal epithelium and intestinal organoids, Suyun Choi on age-dependent effects of zinc deficiency on skeletal muscle mitochondria and metal distribution, and Evelyn Nathania on functional validation of the rs2120019 locus and sex-specific zinc responses to coenzyme A supplementation.

Kristofer Terrell has completed his PhD in Nutritional Sciences, capping five years in the lab. His dissertation work on zinc dyshomeostasis in senescent intestinal cells anchored the lab’s aging research.

Sangyong gave an invited presentation at the International Society of Zinc Biology meeting in São Paulo, Brazil, on a common genetic variant near PPCDC that regulates cellular zinc homeostasis.

Zachary Conrad presented at the Frontiers Undergraduate Research Exhibition on the effects of a single nucleotide polymorphism near the PPCDC gene on zinc homeostasis and gene expression.
