The lab presented three posters at the American Society for Nutrition Annual Meeting in National Harbor, MD. Lori Huang on zinc transporters in aged intestinal epithelium and intestinal organoids, Suyun Choi on age-dependent effects of zinc deficiency on skeletal muscle mitochondria and metal distribution, and Evelyn Nathania on functional validation of the rs2120019 locus and sex-specific zinc responses to coenzyme A supplementation.

Kristofer Terrell has completed his PhD in Nutritional Sciences, capping five years in the lab. His dissertation work on zinc dyshomeostasis in senescent intestinal cells anchored the lab’s aging research.
